Norma Easterlow, a mother of three has recently joined 121( Nuneaton ) Squadron as a Civilian Instructor. She had previously been helping out as a member of the Squadrons Civilian Committee but felt that she needed to get more involved with the running of the Squadron.

Norma said "My first contact with the Air Cadets was when my daughter Amiee joined the Squadron as a cadet and I joined the Squadrons Civilian Committee to help out with fund raising. I have always tried to help out with whatever groups my children joined but of course as they've become fully independent I now feel that I need an interest of my own, a new challenge. I haven't been a Civilian Instructor for long but I've already been on a staff development course at RAF Cosford, had my first flight in the Tutor trainer last weekend and I'm looking forward to being able to go on annual camp with the squadron this year. I'm hoping to be able to apply to take up a post as a uniformed member of staff soon but not having had any previous service experience there's lots I need to learn about the cadets and the RAF first.

Flight Lieutenant Ian Crewe Officer Commanding 121 Squadron said "The air cadet organisation needs more people like Norma, adults with a sense of adventure and few spare hours to help to train our cadets. Adult staff play a vital role in all aspects of the Squadron, organising activities, encouraging and training cadets or helping the unit to run smoothly".
